10" 3 Stage HMA Tap Water Koi Pond Dechlorinator

This is a simple but well designed and rugged dechlorinator at a size that allows you to install it in ponds and medium size tanks. It’s worth noting that there are no instructions supplied but it’s a very easy setup process of in/out using the supplied threads and, if the cartridges ,which are supplied with the unit, do require changing further down the line there is dedicated wrench also supplied. Mounting is via the two screw holes on the top lip riser, each measuring 1cm diameter, although there are no fixings supplied. Aside from the cartridges which are durable hard plastic the metal mounting frame is excellent quality and coated very well so I do not expect any corrosion or rust. With triple stage filtration and a very fine 5 micron sediment filter this unit does a great job of reliably keeping your pond in optimum condition for both aquatic life and plants. Other than the cartridge changing there really isn’t any on-going maintenance required with this unit so once it’s setup and installed you can just let it do its thing. Recommended, particularly at this price point.

Right out of the box, the unit feels heavy, solid, well made, and uses proper 10” housings you’d expect on a more expensive filtration system. The connectors and seals are tight and leak-free, and the setup took me less than 20 minutes with no special tools. The male connectors provided are standard and will fit into any setup that uses this system. The brackets and fittings feel like they’ll last for years. Slight gripe: the “o” rings fall out ever time the containers are unscrewed. How long will it be before I lose one?😀Between the sediment filter, carbon block, and heavy-metal reduction media, my tap water comes out spotless and crystal clear. Free of chlorine and other nasties that can stress koi or damage biological filters. The difference is immediately noticeable: water clears faster after changes, fish behaviour remains calm, and the pond’s beneficial bacteria stay stable. That was tested over about 5 days-not the most comprehensive test but due to time constraints the best I can do! I see no reason why the same trend shouldn’t continue.Water flow isn’t noticeably reduced when installing the filters in line. I’m still maintaining a full pond water change each hour. There’s no leftover chemical smell at all.All three filter cartridges are readily replaceable as they are stocked and sold through the MyPond store on Amazon. Great product at a great price. Added bonus it came with the actual required cartridges which I didn’t see on the listing. Wish it came with the tap fitting tho as it’s a slightly bigger fitting to my old one. Excellent service with fast delivery. Definitely recommend seller and product. Thank you

The set comes packaged in a brown cardboard box with decent branding on the outside. It blends so well I didn't actually realise at first that the box was the instructions, so I was a little disappointed there weren't any in the box!I tested the unit with needing to fill up one of our aquariums. For our pond I use a big blue dechlorinator, that unfortunately stopped working recently (needs the carbon changed). This set is noticeably slower at a rated 3-6L per minute, and a suggested maximum of about 9000L.The quality of the set is reasonable. It comes with three 10" filter housings, mounted on a metal plate. There were no screws for fixing the plate to the wall through the holes, but given it could be on wood or masonry it would be a waste to supply all relevant types.The set comes with two plastic screw in adaptors to connect to hose quick-fit. I didn't use any PTFE tape on these, (none is supplied) and they did leak slightly. Personally I will be changing them to brass type connectors as I prefer them long-term, so I am not too concerned about this. There is a large 'spanner' supplied which helps one to screw the blue casings on to the water tops.The three supplied filters are already in the correct holders (so long as you use the correct in and out), however they are wrapped in plastic which you must remove first. Each canister has a rubber washer, some of them sit better in position than others, but all were functional.Testing my input water the TDS was 240ppm. Immediately attaching the filter the TDS went up to 260, however, it is necessary always to flush these filters before actual use. After 5 minutes the TDS dropped to 220ppm. Testing for chlorine there was no longer any present. I couldn't directly test for chloramine, but there were no ill effects.When I review items I generally start the review without a rating in mind. As I write of my experience I will rate a good/above average item starting with 4 stars, as this gives it the opportunity to gain an extra star if it excels. If an item doesn't match it's advert, or is significantly different to how one would expect it to work it loses stars.

Good sturdy unit, only issue I have got is I can’t seem to stop a constant drip from the first cartridge compartment, tried to reseal the element but to no avail

We recently installed this 3 Stage HMA Unit 10″ Koi Pond Dechlorinator on our backyard pond, and it’s been doing an excellent job keeping the water clean and safe for fish and plants. The three-stage filtration process works effectively to remove chlorine and other impurities, making the water much healthier for our koi and aquatic life.The build quality feels solid and durable — sturdy enough for continuous outdoor use. Setup was straightforward, and the system integrates easily with existing plumbing or pump return lines. We noticed an improvement in water clarity within a few days, and the fish are visibly more active and vibrant.This unit is suitable for both home and commercial ponds, and it’s versatile enough to be used with aquariums, water features, or garden systems too. The 10″ size provides good capacity without taking up too much space.Overall, this is a reliable pond filter and dechlorination solution that delivers clean, safe water for fish tanks, koi ponds, and other aquatic environments. Great high quality set. Unfortunately ours arrived damaged (not a seller issue, a delivery issue) so I needed to replace the hose connector as it was smashed. Would recommend the connectors are packaged with a little more protection as these were just loose in the box and probably led to the damage - hence the removal of one star. That being said, the connector was easy to replace as it's a universal fitting and the actual filter manifold and cylinders itself was undamaged and of good quality. Includes all filters (packaged within the cylinders) so ready to connect and go without needing to get other bits - making this really good value! After using testing strips it appears to work as it should and does the job! Would recommend for the build quality alone.

This is a 3 stage HMA unit or (Heavy Metal Axe) which is used to remove chlorine, heavy metals and sediment from the water. It works differently to a Reverse Osmosis (RO) unit as it does not use a membrane, so the mineral content remains and the PH levels are barely affected.The unit itself is high quality and despite the limited description, it does come with media so that in itself was a huge, pleasant surprise.I have connected it up and there are no leaks whatsoever, I did require some extra couplings (which I already had).This is definitely a keeper but just remember, it is NOT an RO unit and will not turn your water acidic.Excellent asking price considering the media is included.

I haven't been able to test this item on my pond to determine how effective it is due to it being winter and needing to complete my review quickly. On that basis, I cannot test the water quality BUT the active constituents of the three stage filtration system of 5 micron sediment/activated carbon/carbon block, three stage filtration system will remove debris and reduce carbon, therefore it will improve the water quality in my pond.In terms of build quality, the system is well made, comes complete with three cartridges and a tightening tool to ensure that the three filter containers are tighly fitted against their seals. It appears simple to use, there are arrows on the top of the unit to indicate the direction of water flow an it should function perfectly during the summer months. At the price of £49.99, I thought it very good value for money, as it should be easy to connect to my existing system and has pred prepared fixing points to fix to an adjacent wall or similar.So why four and not five stars. Firstly, there are no instructions and whilst the system is quite self explanatory to most, it won't be to all. Secondly, I had to search amazon to seek out how I could purchase replacement filters, as they only last for a miximum of 12 months for a small unit. I have found them, but it wasnt easy as you have to check sze of fitting and cartridge.Apologies for the poor quality video review.

Included are two garden hose QR adaptors that screw into the filter ports allowing flow from the supply to the pond.The three filters included are:1) sediment filter, pleated, 5 microns; rated for 5-8GPM2) GAC, 10-20 microns; 3-5GGPM, capacity of 15-20,000G3) CTO, 5-10 microns, 2-3GPM, capacity of 6-10,000GThe steel mounting plate is solid. Do make sure that you mount it with adequate clearance to unscrew the blue housings for filter changes.All on all, I think this is pretty good value, as buying the components separately would be much more than the £50 asking price.

Really useful triple cartridge HMA unit for large ponds. This will filter and dechlorinate large fish ponds and comes with everything you need. A welcome suprise was that the set actually comes with the necessary filters within the blue housings. All the fixtures and fittings fit together reassuringly well and tight and the item has some heft to it, the quality and weight is apparent. I have not been using the setup long enough to observe the results but I'm very happy with the results and hopefully the fish will be!!
